Update 4/15/2020:

During these unprecedented times, Saints Avenue Bank is partnering with employees and clients to navigate the rapidly evolving COVID-19 crisis.  We are grateful to our dedicated team who remains committed to ensuring seamless service is delivered to our clients in this new remote-work environment. We have modified our lobby procedures to allow in-person transactions at the drive-up, while following local guidelines to protect the safety of all.  As we work with each of you, our valued clients, we learn of similar adjustments that you are making to serve your clients and communities – we are all in this together!

The economic and financial environment is changing daily, with an overload of information inundating each of us.  In an effort to help you sift through the noise, we have complied what we feel is the most relevant and reliable resources for your review.

CARES ACT

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act allocated $350 billion to help small businesses keep workers employed amid the pandemic and economic downturn. The most prominent program, known as the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), provides 100% federally guaranteed loans to small businesses who maintain their payroll during this emergency.

Importantly, these loans may be forgiven if borrowers maintain their payrolls during the crisis or restore their payrolls afterward.

Payroll Protection Program (PPP)

Saints Avenue Bank is a participant in this program and is supporting the community with access to these SBA opportunities. As of April 14th, Saints Avenue Bank has reserved over $5 million in funding in the Paycheck Protection Program for our small business clients, and we continue to take new applications. Details regarding the program are fluid and the amount of available funds is uncertain. We encourage our clients to submit applications for the PPP Loan program as soon as possible to secure funding. Please contact us at 573-231-0303 to discuss how we can help.

Disaster Loan (EIDL)

An alternative resource for small businesses in Missouri and Illinois are the U.S. SBA Disaster Loan Program. The program offers low interest loans to small businesses and private non-profits severely impacted by COVID-19. While the Disaster Loan is not forgivable, certain businesses may qualify for a forgivable $10,000 grant as part of the program. To apply for this program please click on the link which will take you to the SBA website. https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela

Update 4/1/2020:

Saints Avenue Bank is providing this information as a service to its clients. The bank has received numerous inquiries this past week about the various government programs. The following is brief summary of the programs.

CARES ACT:

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (the CARES Act) was signed into law this past Friday, March 27th. The act includes a provision for Small Business Administration (SBA) loans to businesses meeting certain criteria.

EIDL:

The SBA’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program provides small businesses with working capital loans of up to $2 million that can provide vital economic support to small businesses to help overcome the temporary loss of revenue due to COVID-19. Applications for EIDL loans are done directly through the SBA (www.sba.gov/funding-programs/disaster-assistance). Applicants can receive a $10,000 Emergency Grant upon completion of the application. The grant is not tied to the EIDL loan or its approval.

PPP:

The CARES Act introduces a new SBA loan program called the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) (www.treasury.gov/CARES). This is an economic relief program to provide access to capital for businesses negatively impacted by the COVID-19 Pandemic. The PPP loan covers two months of payroll and benefit expenses as well as some operating expenses. Program details can be obtained through the Treasury website.  These loans will be originated through SBA 7(a) lenders, including Saints Avenue Bank. The loan underwriting rules (application process and documentation requirements) are outlined on the Information Sheet for Borrowers.  The application process starts April 3, 2020.

If your business needs immediate cash, we are advising our clients to apply for the EIDL loan to receive the $10,000 grant.

Additional information will be posted once the bank receives program details from the SBA. Thank you for your patience.

Since our St. Charles, Missouri branch does not have drive-thru services, that lobby will be available via appointment only.  We will continue to monitor the situation and evaluate our operations accordingly.
